The Oldest Lamp in the World, Still Lights after 109 Years
Oldest lamp in the world still lights after 109 years and still illuminate the room until now.
The lamp called the Centennial Bulb is installed in office in California fire department
This lamp is a gift from local businessman to the fire department.
This lamp produced by the Shelby Electric Company.
This 4 watt carbon lamp has become a record in the guiness book of records beating the previous record of lamp in the theater Texas.
Standard lamp usually lasts for 750 to 1000 hours of burning, while the modern lamp current up to 10,000 hours of stand up.

Three Gorges Dam, the World’s largest Dam from China
Begin May 20th 2006 Three Gorges Dam become the world’s largest Dam. It’s larger than Itaipu Dam in Brazil that previously hold the record.
The Three Gorges Dam is a hydroelectric river dam that spans the Yangtze River in the town of Sandouping, located in Yiling District of Yichang, Hubei province, China. It is the world’s largest electricity-generating plant of any kind.
The dam body was completed in 2006. Except for a planned ship lift, all of the originally planned components of the project were completed on October 30, 2008, when the 26th generator was brought into commercial operation. Currently, it contains 32 main generators, each with a capacity of 700 MW. Six additional generators in the underground power plant are being installed and are not expected to become fully operational until around 2011. With 2 small generators (50 MW each) to power the plant itself, the total electric generating capacity of the dam will eventually reach 22,500 MW.The project produces hydroelectricity, increases the river’s navigation capacity, and reduces the potential for floods downstream by providing flood storage space. Up to September 2009 the dam has generated 348.4 TWh of electricity, covering more than one third of its project cost.
The project management and the Chinese state regard the project as a historic engineering, social and economic success,a breakthrough in the design of large turbines,and a move toward the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. However, the dam has also flooded archaeological and cultural sites and displaced some 1.24 million people, and is causing significant ecological changes, including an increased risk of landslides. The building of the dam has been a controversial topic both in China and abroad.

The Most Expensive Book in the World Ever Sold, Codex Leicester
The Codex Leicester is the most expensive book in the world ever sold. Was bought by Bill Gates at auction in 1994 for the astounding $ 30.80 million.
Written between 1506 and 1510, the Codex Leicester provide the minds of great Renaissance artists, scientists, and thinkers, Leonardo da Vinci.
Codex is named by Thomas Coke, later first Earl of Leicester, purchased in 1717. Physically, the Codex takes the form of 18 sheets of paper, each folded in half and written on both sides, forming a complete 72-page document. It’s handwritten in Italian by the Leonardo, using a typical mirror writing, and supported by lots of pictures and diagrams.
Codex stored on public display once a year in different cities around the world. Year 2004 has been exhibited at the Château de Chambord, and in 2005 in Tokyo. One page is on display at the Museum of Flight in Seattle in 2006 the exhibition “Leonardo da Vinci: Man, Inventor, Genius.”

San Fermin Festival 2010
The festival of San FermÃn (or Sanfermines) is a deeply rooted celebration held annually in the city of Navarre, Spain. The celebration starts from 12:00, 6 July, when the opening of the fiesta is marked by setting off the pyrotechnic chupinazo, to midnight 14 July, with the singing of the Pobre de MÃ.
While its most famous event is the encierro, or the running of the bulls, the biggest day is 7 July, when thousands of people accompany a replica of the statue of Saint Fermin along the streets in the old part of city.
